PARTY TIME * THE HEPTONES * ISLAND 6364 * UK

Not altogether the type of song that the title suggests, while The Heptones are indeed singing about going out to parties and enjoyment, they none the less sing about it with an air of fatalism and foreboding. Set to a choice Reggae rhythm produced by Lee Perry, the song urges one and all to "Live some life before were old, before were cold" . . . yeh, and that's not long either.

Interestingly the Island label at this time did not put their name anywhere on the label! Whether they did this in imitation of some of the more 'minimal' Jamaican imprints, or they were confident enough that their label designs were enough to suggest the brand is not known, but whatever the reason thousands of people never noticed the omission.
