I WISH YOU LOVE * SAM COOKE * RCA VICTOR 7117 * UK
I Wish You Love was written and originally recorded by Charles Trenet as Que Reste-t-il De Nos Amours in 1947, the English translation was by Albert A. Beach, possibly for Keely Smith's 1957 version, after which the song became something of a 'standard'. Sam Cooke released his version on the Mr Soul album in 1963; it was issued on this his first of, surprisingly, of only two Sam Cooke EPs to be issued in the UK.
