One Too Many Heartaches was released in the US as the A side on Tamla 54154 backed with That's The Way Love Is which was never released in the UK on 45.
Written by Ivy Joe Hunter One Too Many Heartaches is a mid tempo Soul ballad with sweet harmonies from the Isley Brothers, not the more high octane and energetic vocals that the group are more associated with.
Both sides of the British issue of TMG 693 were played by DJs at the time, and were equally popular with Soul fans; as can be seen on the above illustrated disc where a previous owner has personally designated One Too Many Heartaches as the A side by marking the label with an A.
