Recorded in New York during the summer of 1956, with Johnny Moore as lead tenor, Gerhart Thrasher, tenor, Charlie Hughes, baritone, Bill Pinkney bass. I Gotta Get Myself A Woman is the jump side of a superb two sider the next side, Soldier Of Fortune being a ballad. This record was the first Drifters 45 issued in GB -  the other two songs from this session were also eventually released: Sadie My Lady (in 1961) and Honky Tonky on the groups first British album in 1960 both on the London label.
