FEVER * THE MAYTALS * ISLAND 117 * UK

A Rolando & Powie release, as by The Maytals, in Jamaica and, according to which source, is either their 13th or their 7th release. A nescient Ska recording with the complex interweaving voices and rhythms often heard on Maytals cuts and a superb, if somewhat low key, violin threading through the music. The song title might suggest that it's a version of Little Willie John's classic Fever although they may have taken the idea from that song it is nothing like it, either in words or music.
