BEND DOWN LOW * THE WAILERS * ISLAND 3043 * UK

Along with Freedom Time (the next side) Bend Down Low was the first song to be recorded on Bob Marley's return from America after working in a Delaware factory to make enough money to be able to put out the Wailers own productions on their Wail'n Soul'm imprint. The song was recorded again in 1968 for Johnny Nash, six years later Bob Marley & The Wailers made this song famous in the up-dated version from their 1974 album Natty Dread, but the above Rock Steady issue was the first cut of the song.
