Although credited to The Vikings, the rousing Gospel inspired Hallelujah was The Maytals first release in the UK - they did have one side, Victory, released on D Darling as their debut in Jamaica - but it was this track, originally released in Jamaica on Roland & Powie, that brought the group to a much wider audience and was to set the standard of their energetic and often inspired Gospel-Ska recordings throughout the 1960s.
