ANOTHER CHANCE * THE MAYTALS * R&B 141 * UK

A Coxsone Dodd production and originally released on his C and N imprint Jamaica, Another Chance is a restless love song about a frustrated lover and his heartless lover. Although recorded during the early Ska period and technically belonging to the Ska genre, the beat is somewhat slower and closer to the proto Ska rhythm of the early 1960s, than the more energetic and furious pace of some of the other scorching Maytals cuts from around the same time; could it possibly be that this had been recorded earlier and Dodd had decided to belatedly put it out?
